SAPS ON HEELS OF THE ASSAILANTS WHO KILLED AN ATTORNEY

Limpopo SAPS are investigating the murder of veteran attorney Moleko Ratau (58), who was brutally shot on February 12.

 

The South African Police Service in Lebowakgomo have launched a manhunt for the unknown assailants who shot and killed the attorney at about 19:00.The incident took place at Zone R in Lebowakgomo.

 

“It is alleged that the deceased was moving towards the gate talking on his cellphone when unknown suspects approached, shot him several times killing him instantly before they fled from the scene,” said Limpopo SAPS’ spokesman Col Moatshe Ngoepe

 

He said the neighbours were alarmed by gunshots and rushed to the scene. The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood. The SAPS and medical emergency personnel were summoned and upon arrival, he was certified dead on the scene.

 

“Police opened a case of murder and commenced with investigations and manhunt for the suspects.

The motive behind this incident is still unknown at this stage but the ongoing Police investigations will tell,” added Ngoepe.

 

The Provincial Commissioner Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has condemned the incident with the most strongest terms and instructed that the suspects be tracked down and brought to book so that they come and face full might of the law.

 

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects involved in this matter to contact Lt Col Thomas Baloyi on 082 565 8234 or the Crime stop number 0860010111or the nearest Police Station or MySAPSApp.
