New leadership takes reins at STA

SEKHUKHUNE

The Sekhukhune Tourism Association (STA) has recently elected a new Executive Committee, which is set to drive destination growth and development in the Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM).

The elections took place at the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Sekhukhune Lodge in Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM).

The newly elected Executive Committee consists of Chairperson Waziwa Skhosana, Deputy Chairperson Paul Mashoene, Secretary Tlalane Ramoneta, Deputy Secretary Phindile Maabane and Treasurer Edward Motshana.

Delivering his acceptance, Skhosana, who is owner of Thaba Nkwe Game Resort, expressed gratitude to the outgoing Executive Committee for their tireless efforts and valuable contributions to advancing the tourism agenda in Sekhukhune District.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to the outgoing Executive Committee for their leadership and dedication,” Skhosana said.

The new chairperson emphasized the importance of clarity and coherence in tourism communication and branding.

“Hospitality is a communication function. What we communicate to tourists as a promise of experience must be delivered thoughtfully and thoroughly through the brand,” Skhosana explained.

Following the successful elections, the new leadership’s focus will center on strengthening collaboration with stakeholders, formalizing tourism enterprises, driving inclusive growth, improving visibility and market access for local tourism products and services.

The ultimate goal of the structure is to position Sekhukhune District as a competitive and sustainable destination within Limpopo and South Africa.

With renewed energy and strategic clarity, the new Executive Committee is equipped to drive tourism growth and development in the region.
