The ANC Sekhukhune Regional Executive Committee (REC), led by Regional Chairperson Minah Bahula, alongside Deputy Chairperson David Tladi and Regional Treasurer Given Moimana, led a high-level delegation on a spiritual and stakeholder engagement visit to two respected traditional practitioners, Dr Reggie Tsiane in Kgobokwane Village and Prof Donald Moremi in Ga-Matlala Ramoshebo Village respectively.
According to the party, the visit forms part of a long-standing commitment by the region to strengthen relations with all sectors of society, including churches, traditional healers and diverse spiritual communities.
“The organisation today honours both Dr Reggie and Prof Moremi as key role players in our society, who are respected for their dedication to their traditional work and the teachings they provide to those seeking guidance,” said Chairperson Bahula.
She emphasized that the ANC remains a home for all, and that traditional healers are custodians of African culture, health and moral guidance who must be respected and included in the nation-building project.
The visit is not an isolated event but part of a broader programme of community upliftment that has defined the ANC Sekhukhune Region in recent years.
Under the leadership of the REC, the region has championed practical service delivery interventions that directly change lives.
In emulation of Nelson Mandela’s spirit of selflessness, the region led by Treasurer and Ephraim Mogale Mayor Given Moimana, recently undertook a full community service project in Manapsane Village.
The team of REC members, sub-regional leadership and volunteers donated a toilet, groceries, replaced broken doors and windows, and painted the homes of the needy Malesoena family.
The region continues to lobby and support bulk water infrastructure critical to Sekhukhune. This includes the R797-million Moutse Bulk Water Scheme, set to serve 40 villages upon completion, and the Greening Sekhukhune Programme launched in partnership with the Department of Public Works, SANBI and IDT to create jobs while greening the district.
The region has supported the establishment of the multi-million rand Sekhukhune Skills Development Centre, featuring retail and agricultural hubs and engineering workshops. The centre has already created over 267 jobs, empowered six local SMMEs, and will train 45 informal traders in financial management as part of a broader informal economy upliftment plan.
The region has further prioritized support for community food gardens, indigent support, and repair of sewer and water infrastructure in municipalities under its leadership.
In closing the day’s programme, RET Coordinator, Given Moimana, convened a strategic meeting at the Pink Hall in Matlerekeng with branch structures and volunteers to share progress on election work.
Moimana reported that volunteer structures across Ephraim Mogale and surrounding sub-regions are energized and ready for the upcoming Local Government Elections on 4 November 2026, with door-to-door and stakeholder engagement forming the backbone of the campaign.
The ANC in Sekhukhune has called on all its members, supporters and alliance partners to remain united and to continue serving as community resources.
