Deplorable conditions of D4150 (Praktiseer to Burgersfort road) are a concern

BURGERSFORT

It looks like it will take years for the government to finally ensure good roads with no potholes all over Tubatse.

In recent weeks, this paper, has been inundated with complaints from locals about damaged roads in Fetakgomo Tubatse.

Local residents have expressed their concerns about the deplorable condition of the D4150. A section of this road, which links Praktiseer and the R37 is dilapidated and looks abandoned.

This portion of the road has deteriorated significantly and has become a major concern for motorists, businesses, and commuters who use this route daily.

Locals complained that the poor conditions of the road causes substantial delays, damages vehicles, and contributes to severe traffic congestion, particularly during peak hours.

“Poor road conditions are not just an inconvenience — they are a threat to safety, livelihoods, and property. Every pothole left unrepaired is another sign of neglect and another reminder that residents are paying for services they do not receive, complained a local resident

Resident, Dr Lehlogonolo Paledi, wrote on his Facebook page, “Given that this intersection serves as a critical access point within the Burgersfort area, the current state of the road is negatively affecting economic activity, road safety, and the efficient movement of people and goods.

“We therefore kindly appeal to the Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure or Roads Agency Limpopo to prioritize the repair and rehabilitation of this section of road.

“Your intervention would bring much needed relief to road users and demonstrate the Department’s commitment to maintaining vital transport infrastructure within our province.

We appreciate the work that the Department continues to do in improving road infrastructure across Limpopo and remain hopeful that this matter will receive urgent attention.”

Road Agency Limpopo  (RAL) spokesperson Luyanda Sithole acknowledged receiving the queries about the D1450, she indicated that the complaints will be forwarded to relevant department within RAL.
