Community concerned about the vandalism at Praktiseer Clinic

Vandalism at healthcare facilities, is severely impacting healthcare, with incidents including destruction of equipment, and looting of facilities. Residents of Praktiseer have condemned the actions of some community members in the township who allegedly engaged in acts of vandalism at the Praktiseer Clinic.
Chairperson of the Praktiseer Clinic David Mokoena said they were saddened by the destruction.

“We had people who came to the clinic at about 01:00 on Thursday morning, the clinic was not operating at night during that particular day, when they couldn’t  get help, these individuals reacted by throwing stones and damaging properties. We are saddened by the destruction and urge members of the community to take good care of our clinic,” said Mokoena.
The Limpopo Department of Health said it is deeply concerned by this senseless act of vandalism.

“This disrupts the operations of the clinic. We would like to emphasize that the Department does not condone any form of violence or destruction of property, especially in healthcare settings, which must remain safe and welcoming for both patients and staff,” said the department in a statement. The Department says they are investigating the situation and will take appropriate steps to address any further disruptions.
