FTLM parking area damaged after heavy rains

Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s employees were hugely affected by the heavy rains in Burgersfort on November 19. The vicious thunderstorms damaged the parking area at the (FTLM)’s chamber in Burgersfort, with staff’s vehicles seen on video trapped under the parking shade. Small shacks used by street vendors were also dismantled by the storms. The hail also damaged several cars. Electrical poles in the Mooifontein area were also uprooted.

In the villages, access roads were also dealt a major blow with motorist struggling to access their homes. Debris and soil was spotted on the R37 at Ga- Mashamothane, the Old Penge Road (D2537) as well as the road linking Praktiseer and the R37.

The rain also uprooted several trees outside the town and nearby villages.
