Local tenderpreneurs  claims to be sidelined at the FTLM

It seems not all is hunky dory at the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality(FTLM), with the recent success of the FTLM’s State of the Local Municipality Address (Solma), several local SMMEs have complaint about what they termed as “nepotism and sidelining” at the municipality.

On top of the tenderpreneurs’s concerns is that majority of the big contracts, if not all, are being rendered and are allocated to people residing outside the FTLM. They alleged the contracts during the FTLM’s Solma’s were allegedly handed to people residing in the Makhuduthamaga area and people outside the FTLM.
The business owners have also alleged the top leadership of the ANC Sekhukhune region are interfering in the day to day running of the FTLM. This has led to several companies linked to the families of the ANC’s top management in Sekhukhune benefiting in most contracts in the FTLM.

 “The FTLM Solma logistics tender, which included stage, decor, catering and many more duties was allocated to a close relative of one of the top brass in the ANC,” alleged a local businessman.
According to the whistle blowers, there is nothing wrong with people outside the FTLM doing business with the municipality.
“What is off concern is that all the big projects, are handed to the outsiders, even the ones we know locals have capabilities and experiences to orchestrate them with panache.”
The recent contract shenanigans, has led to the local business people urging the management, both administration and political to conduct an introspection.
“We just need fairness, that’s all, its pity to be left out in a game you are fit to play, the management have to give fair business opportunities to FTLM inhabitants.”
At the time of going to print, this publication was yet to receive responses from the FTLM with relations to this matter.
