Eyes lit up and smiles spread across the children’s faces as they collected their new pairs of school shoes, each offering a grateful “thank you.”

As part of Mandela Month celebrations, Noko Maimela Incorporated, Attorneys and Conveyancers donated school shoes to the pupils at Ga-Manyaka Primary School.

“I would like to thank the community of Ga-Manyaka for raising and supporting me. I applaud the school management team for always allowing us to assist. I donated the shoes after i saw a few of the pupils wearing worn out shoes, i then asked one of the educators to identify the neediest pupils. When the list came-up longer, i then vowed to purchase the shoes for all the pupils at the school. No one must be left out,” said Maimela.

Maimela said he is always eager to assist local communities. “We previously donated 15 computers and printers to this school and in the past years, Noko Maimela Incorporated partnered with Zizwe to donate gas bottles and gas stoves to more than nine schools in and around the Driekop area.”

Driekop Circuit Manager Lazarus Phasha, quoted a proverb, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed”.

He thanked Noko Maimela for investing in education.

“If we invest in education, we will be combating crime to happen in future. Lets pray that other businesses and mining companies invest on the youth . They are our future leaders.”

He said as the department of education, they are happy to be the recipients of the shoes. Ga-Manyaka’s principal SK Mashao said the challenges of having pupils arriving to school bare-footed will be a thing of the past.

“We deal with different pupils, from different families, and backgrounds. They are now on the same level, they all have quality shoes. This is all thanks to Noko Maimela. They have to to take good care of the shoes.”
