BOTHASHOEK
Theresia Sekgobela, a beauty contestant from Bothashoek outside Burgersfort, is one of the models competing for the Mrs South Africa crown.
The 34-year-old model is one of the beauty contestants who advanced to the semi-finals of Mrs South Africa beauty pageant and in need of votes so that she can win the competition.
The happily married mother of three says her love for modelling developed at a very young age when she was still in primary school.
“Because of lack of support and motivation at the time, I then lost interest in modelling and started putting more focus on my studies,” she said.
However, Theresia says her love for modelling was ignited earlier last year when she noticed the Mrs South Africa adverts and decided to be a part of the competition.
“I regained my confidence after noticing the competition and decided to take part because modelling has always been what I love the most,” she said.
Theresia advised other women to continue chasing their dreams regardless of their age and family backgrounds.
“I have realised that many women or rather married women once they reach a certain age, they turn to forget or abandon their careers and capabilities. I want to be an inspiration and leading by example to those women. It doesn’t matter what age or situation, you might be anything you want to be at any given time. It is possible to uplift yourself if you still have hope and faith in yourself,” she adds.
Currently, Theresia is employed at a financial department in one of the local mining companies in Burgersfort area.
To develop her community, the passionate beauty contestant says she will soon be starting a youth development initiative called Unboxing Dreams Foundation, which will be focusing on uplifting young people.
“The foundation will be supporting both boys and girls with various donations such as toiletries, sanitary towels and many more others that will be donated to different communities. The foundation will also play an important role in motivating and encouraging these young people so that they can focus on pursuing their careers and chase their dreams in order to achieve more in life,” she said.
The Mrs South Africa Pageant semi-finals will be held on 4 July 2025 at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.
Theresia is pleading with the public to vote for her by SMS THERESIA SEKGOBELA to 47587, SMS cost R3 and people are encouraged to vote as many times as they can.
