Maluleka celebrate his birthday by donating to Thabane pupils
MABOCHA
The ANC’s Frans Medupi Montjane branch (Ward 30) secretary Prince Maluleka celebrated his birthday on 5 August by giving back to needy learners of Thabane Primary School in Mabocha.
Maluleka does this good deed every year, but for 2024, he went an extra mile. He donated school uniforms, shoes and sanitary towels to the school. He also shared his cakes with the pupils at the school. The event was attended by the school management teams (SMTs), educators and excited pupils from Thabane.
Maluleke was a scholar at Thabane between 1992 and 1997 and has always put the school closer to his heart.
His initiative saw 35 learners receiving school uniforms and 40 more pupils handed brand new school shoes. He said the initiative aimed to show support to needy learners and encourage them to take education seriously.
“I have come here to say that I have gone above and beyond. I want to encourage you because school is important . As a former learner at this school, I know how it feels to come to class with no shoes. I am thankful to God for giving me the strength to assist the needy local kids,” revealed the Good Samaritan.
Maluleke thanked the SMT for working together with the community in improving the school. A thankful school principal, Oscar Seroka applauded the donor for his kind heart.
“We are thankful as educators and management of Thabane. Our pupils come from different backgrounds and some lack basic needs such as shoes. The donations from our former student, our product, will encourage our kids to focus more on education, this will show them that it’s possible to succeed in life .”
Maluleka’s donations were not the only ones on the day. A local company Liberty Life also handed 22 shoes to the needy and vulnerable pupils.
Seroka said the school uniforms will be handed to the neediest and disadvantaged pupils at the school.
