LONGTILL

Realising the increase in gender based violence (GBV) cases in Fetakgomo Tubatse. Gatsheni Lifeway Hope Organisation (GLHP) recently organized a fun walk, aerobics and awareness campaign to combat the scourge. The event was attended by local councillors, health coaches, dietician and victims of GBV. The 5 kilometre walk started at Lavino, it was completed at the Mapodile Stadium in Longtill. Event organiser Pastor Themba Ndlovu encouraged women to speak up and speak out about all forms of abuse noting that if men fail them God will always be there to lift them up. Ndlovu also appealed to the abusers to desist from hurting their loved ones noting that their behaviour can have a negative impact on the future generation.

“We had men participating in our events.  I am optimistic that the abusers will refrain from their bad deeds,” he added.  The participants in the funwalk were handed medals for their efforts. Ndlovu thanked local organisations and sponsors who made the event a success GLHP was founded in 2021 February by Themba and Ellah Ndlovu, with the objectives of bringing hope to the local communities.  The organisation focused more at local schools doing life coaching, impacting lives and bringing hope to the youth.
