Appiesdoring murderer among 1425 suspects arrested

Limpopo SAPS have arrested 1425 suspects during the weekly operations that were conducted between August 9-16. Suspects aged between 18 and 50 were apprehended for various offences ranging from stock theft, murder, theft of non ferrous metals, theft under false pretense, carjackings, possession and dealing in drugs and possession of stolen properties.
Among those arrested is a 43 year old male suspect who was arrested by the Burgersfort Detectives. He is facing two counts of murder of his girlfriend and a three year old daughter on 16 August 2021.
“The suspect visited the deceased at Appiesdoring in Burgersfort policing precinct and stabbed them with a sharp object several times and later fled the scene. The suspect was subsequently arrested while travelling with a public transport on his way to Witbank in Mpumalanga with the goal to evade arrest,” said Limpopo SAPS spokesman Brig Motlafelo Mojapelo.
In Groblersdal,two male suspects aged 29 and 31 were arrested for theft of non ferrous -metals and copper cables during a joint operation conducted by the Groblersdal Detectives and Gunmar security on Tuesday 10 August 2021. The suspects were found in possession of 12 x stripped off (burned) pevert motor units valued at about R150 000.00.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lt Gen Thembi Hadebe has applauded the unrelenting positive attitude displayed by all operatives in ensuring that criminals do not have a breathing space in Limpopo.
Some of the suspects have already started appearing in different Magistrate’s court across the province. The operations are continuing.
