Help Settle Itumeleng’s historical varsity debts

Burgersfort, Seokodibeng

A university of Limpopo student is asking for anyone to help settle her historical debts ‘fees’ with the institution.

This young lady from Burgersfort, Seokodibeng is doing her 3rd year in Bachelor of Education Degree is currently studying without any funding. According to Itumeleng, she was funded by Funza Lushaka from first year.

“I was under Funza Lushaka bursary, but it dropped me this year because I registered fewer modules. I then applied for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) which I’m still waiting for approval from,” She said.

Itumeleng Kgotiane a 21-year-old said this is an excruciating experience. She said she tried getting help from people, but nothing worked that is when she decided to use social media platforms.

“I felt helpless because it is painful seeing your peer going ahead with their studies while you are stuck due to financial inabilities”

She said earlier this year she was unable to register due to unsettled fees, but a Good Samaritan was able to reason with the institution until they understood. Regardless of the stress, Itumeleng chooses to be positive that her fees will be settled and NSFAS will approve her application.

“I have a debt amounting to R33 728 accumulated from the year 2020 but I am glad that I will attend classes and work hard towards obtaining this degree of mine,” Said Itumeleng.
