A slightly decomposed body of an unidentified woman was discovered next to the Tubatse River at Ga Motodi last Sunday. The woman’s hands were tied from the back.
The body was discovered by locals who were fetching wood from the river banks.
According to the Limpopo SAPS at the scene, they discovered the body around the afternoon (15:00) after they were alerted by the community members.
The SAPS highlighted that investigations in the matter were continuing and the circumstances surrounding the alleged murder where unknown at this stage.
It has been a grim 2020 for locals in Sekhukhune as gender -based violence (GBV) cases increased all over the district in the past year.
The SAPS urged locals to blow the whistle on GBV and to also report such cases to the relevant authorities.
