With the updated figures, the total number of COVID-19 related death in Limpopo now stands at 977
“This is indeed a difficult time for the people of our province because these are not just numbers, but of our loved ones who have left us. We have seen up to six deaths happening in one family. Families are being broken,” said MEC Phophi Ramathuba.
MEC Ramathuba further indicated the importance of psycho social support during these difficult times.
“After the psychosocial support hub that we initiated for our healthcare workers, we are now as the department currently finalising our psychosocial support program for grieving families. May the soul of our departed family members and friends rest in peace” said Ramathuba.
The department would like to call upon all the people of our province to continue to avoid gatherings including funerals, ensure the wearing of mask, washing of hands with water and soap or sanitize with 70% alcohol based sanitizer at all times.
