Two arrested for possession of suspected stolen property during curfew hours

DENNILTON – Two of the suspects arrested during operations conducted throughout the province until Sunday 17 January 2021, morning by the South African Police Service (SAPS) were those aged between 25 and 28 years-old in Dennilton.

The police were patrolling around the area outside Groblersdal when they noticed a suspicious White Ford bakkie belonging to a courier company, carrying a 5000L Jojo tank.

According to police, they stopped and searched the vehicle but the driver and the passenger failed to provide satisfactory reasons and documentation regarding the origin of the tank as they were raveling during curfew hours.

Police said the suspects were immediately arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and contravention of the Disaster Management Act.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, applauded the provincial team for the continuous stunning job in their endeavor to fight any crime category effectively throughout the province.

The arrested suspects will soon appear before various magistrates courts throughout the province. Police investigations continue.
