People living with disabilities benefit from Good Samaritans

PRAKTISEER/GA-MOTODI – Two people living with disabilities, Mbulelo Khoza and Edwin Mashaba, in two settlements outside Burgersfort benefited from Good Samaritans who donated to them wheelchairs recently.

The Good Samaritans donated a mutual wheelchair to a family of 42 year-old Edwin Mashaba of Ga-Motodi Village and a battery-powered wheelchair to the family of 10 year-old Mbulelo Khoza of Praktiseer.

The two families were overwhelmed with joy when their own living with disabilities received the much needed aids.

The Good Samaritans, Thomo Nkgadima and Thomas Ditlhoiso, say the move to donate the wheelchairs to the two was driven by compassion, a deep feeling for the suffering of others.

Nkgadima said they decided to help restore the mobility and dignity of the two disabled in the spirit of Ubuntu to show humanity.

He said they realizing the need for the two families to be donated the wheelchairs as a result of the condition of their members. Ditlhoiso refurbished the wheelchairs for the children.

Mbulelo was born with brittle bone decease and cannot walk but crawls and watches with envy as other children play.

Mildred, her grandmother, said she was very happy that his grandson would be able to move freely with the new battery powered wheelchair.

Mashaba became paralysed from a car accident which occurred 22 years ago and now suffers from Cerebral Paralysis and cannot walk.

Elizabeth, her sister, said she felt blessed to receive the wheelchair donation and that they would be able to push him to the local clinic and hospital to receive the necessary health care treatment
