Public Works Committee oversight on-going road infrastructure projects in Sekhukhune

The Limpopo Legislature Committee on Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure has visited various on-going road infrastructure projects Road Agency Limpopo (RAL) in the Sekhukhune region.
The committee has over sighted 5km road project at Ga-Masemola which is 60% in completions and the road is expected to be fully completed next year February.
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gabriel Maluleke, the backlog of untarred road in the province remain high with R139 billion require to be clear the backlog.
“The agency has outstanding road projects spanning 13 000 km across the province,” said Maluleke.
Speaking about newly built road in Apel Maluleke said: “These villages can now conveniently shop at Bapedi shopping complex, Ga-Nkoana and travel to Gauteng with ease”.
He said the on-going 11 km road project which link Ga-Riba community to R37 would be completed in March 2021.
“The road passes through mountains but upon completion it will unlock inherent economic potential of the community,” he said.
