SEKHUKHUNE – The African National Congress in Sekhukhune Region, Elias Phakane Moretsele House, has expressed congratulatory remarks to Dr Conrad Tjiane for being conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the University in Los Angeles (LA).
The ANC Sekhukhune Region said that the gesture demonstrated a deep appreciation by the University for African Traditional Values and indigenous knowledge.
“Today’s celebration of this achievement on the soil of Sekhukhune and in a village called Ga-Klopper within Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality will go into history as a legitimate educational content and remembrance to be taught in the future and celebrated by the generations to come,” said Tshepo Matenche, ANC Sekhukhune Regional Spokesperson.
The party said it prided itself of the achievement and milestone made by one of its own, Dr AC Tjiane “Phuti ya Bokone”.
It described Dr Tjiane as an activist of its movement and struggles of the people. The party said Dr Tjiane was the former ANC Regional Executive Committee member in Sekhukhune. He is the former councilor and speaker of Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality.
“Dr Tjiane is a veteran of the movement. His achievements are movement’s achievements and people’s achievements,” concluded Matenche.
