The Tubatse SAPS have warned locals about a scammer operating in town. The way the SAPS are desperate in arresting the conman, they are even offering a reward for those who can assist in his arrest.
Col Mahlathini Ngele of Tubatse SAPS has put down R20 000 for those who might help with information that can lead to the arrest of the man.
Ngele described the man as soft spoken. “He has scammed so many people in Burgersfort and Praktiseer, he sometimes approaches locals and claim that his daughter is stranded at university in Botswana before asking for money and never returns it back. At times he is robbing them or scamming them their hard earned cash.
“ In some instances, he claims to be stranded and pleads for money, thereafter robs his victims that are oblivious of his modus operandi,” said Ngele.
Some of the locals alleged that the suspect was using muti to scam locals.
Those who can assist with information on the suspect, can contact Ngele on 0825733645.
