Needy gogo handed a house

MAHLAKWENA

Gogo Felane Lucy Sebulela’s long wait of having her own decent house is finally over. The disabled pensioner from Mahlakwena village was handed a house last Monday.

Sebulela was officially handed her house by Limpopo MEC for Cooperative governance, human, settlements and traditional affairs (Coghsta) Basikopo Makamu.

Sebulela’s sufferings were discovered by local foundation Letsogo Le Lefang earlier this year. She lived in a dilapidated mud house, she had no foods and other basic needs. Her SASSA cards were also confiscated by a local businessman.

The MEC was accompanied by Limpopo’s first lady mme Maggie Mathabatha during the handover as well as FTLM’s mayor Ralepane Mamekoa.

The five roomed house is fully furnished and well-constructed.  She previously lived with her 15 grandchildren, in the mud house.
This ever strong granny, depended solely on social grants to feed her grandchildren.

” I like to thank everyone who contributed and also assisted in helping my family to have a proper shelter. I want to thank local foundations who always donated food parcels and also contributed in erecting this house.”

The officials concluded the event by sharing Makamu’s birthday cake with the Sebulela family.
