The department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA), confessed incomplete RDP houses in Ga Masemola at Pitjaneng section has negatively impacted the beneficiaries.
The department spokesperson, Motupa Selomo said the department is aware of the matter and as a result a new contractor has been appointed to complete the abandoned housing units in the area.
“The former appointed contractor abandoned the job as a result of poor performance,” said Selomo.
Members of the community who brought the matter in the spotlight said they will wait and see if new contractor commence his/her job because many promises has been made for the past four years.
Complainants who resides in ward 209 in the Makhuduthamaga local municipality said they have suffered enough and the department must fulfil its promises.
“At least we now know why the former contractor abandoned his project. But the question is why the government is continue to deploy unskilled labour who delivers poor performance,” cited said residents.
