Jane Furse – Sekhukhune Development Agency got a free ride on the wave of excitement among the women of Limpopo organised under banner ‘doing tourism with rural development. The Limpopo Women in Tourism (LIMWIT) held at Zai OAT Hotel in Jane Furse on Tuesday 06 October 2020 was part of the effort to open all Districts of Limpopo for Tourism post-Covid19 and ushering the economic recovery within the province. According to the Chairperson of Limpopo Women In Tourism Chapter Mme Grace Sibara the women of Limpopo converged in Sekhukhune to give expression to the Tourism promotion theme for 2020 – Tourism and Rural Development.
The speakers at the event which incorporated the launch of the new logo for Limpopo Women In Tourism Chapter included the CEO of Limpopo Tourism Agency Ms Nomasonto Ndlovu and the Acting Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Cllr Yvonne Mmakola.
Sekhukhune Development Agency (SDA) as part of the hosting District used the occasion to popularise the Top 10 Interesting Things in Sekhukhune, one of which is the Bapedi Flower commonly referred to as Yellow Arum Lily. The botanical name of the specific flower called ‘Bapedi Flower’ is Zatedeschia Jucunda which is uniquely endemic to Mohlake area on the summit of Leolo Mountain.
