Police launch search operation for missing elderly man

LIMPOPO – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo are investigating a case of a missing person following the disappearance of an 80 year-old man, Jerry Ketetjie Tsheola from Pankop in Hamanskraal area.

According to police, it is alleged that the elderly Tsheola went missing on Friday 18 September 2020, after he took a taxi fem Hamanskraal to Tshamahansi village outside Mahwelereng.

Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said the elderly man never reached his home after he had alighted from the same taxi at Mountain village near Tshamahansi.

Ngoepe said the elderly Tsheola was wearing blue pants, sea green shirt, black striped blazer and sneakers at the time of his disappearance.

“Police conducted search operation in and around the area including at relatives and friends without success,” added Ngoepe.

Anyone with information that can assist police to locate the missing Tsheola may contact Warrant Officer Mogoane at 072 245  2659, alternatively, the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
