The five suspects who allegedly
murdered a Kgautšwana shop owner appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s
Court on August 18.
Tonderia Motseke (34), Nikson Matanda (28), Trymore Mapakiti (26), Philemon Sithole (18), and Obey Mthembu (31) appeared before the court on charges of murder, attempted murder, three counts of business robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as that of possession of presumed stolen properties.
They were all denied bail and their cases were postponed to September 18 for further investigations.
“The suspects were arrested after they were positively linked with the murder of a 43 year old shop owner and an attempted murder of his assistant during a business robbery that allegedly took place at Kgautšwana on April 14.
“They were further linked with several robberies and burglaries in and around the Burgersfort area,” revealed Limpopo SAPS spokesman Brig Motlafelo Mojapelo.
He said investigations are still being conducted to determine whether the suspects have committed similar cases in Burgersfort and across the province.
