Driekop man arrested with a load of unprocessed chrome

DRIEKOP

A 36 year old man appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday on a charge illegal mining.

The suspect was arrested on the R37 in Driekop on Tuesday.

He was allegedly spotted transporting unprocessed chrome along the road.

He was immediately arrested and the truck loaded with chrome was confiscated.

Members of the SAPS Provincial Organised Crime Unit said they are hard at work to fight all incidents of illegal mining across the province.

The Police investigations are still underway.
