Department of education offices closed down due to Covid-19

LIMPOPO

Two officials at the Limpopo Department of Education were diagnosed with Covid-19 coronavirus on Tuesday. 

One of the officials is currently in hospital and the other is in self quarantine. “All head office campuses are now closed as a safety measure and to allow for the process of thorough cleaning and disinfection to start immediately, “said departmental spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene. Officials based at the head office were released to work from home until the project is completed. 

She said the actual return dates will be communicated in due course. 

The Limpopo Department of Health has also been contacted to come and make an assessment of the workplace and advise accordingly. 

Chuene added, “Employees who experience symptoms consistent with Covid-19, such as a fever, respiratory distress and a dry cough, are advised to contact the NICD toll-free emergency hotline for COVID-19 on 0800 029 999 or consult a medical professional immediately.”
