A River side resident propelled himself to new heights after released a single track about covid-19.
Ntswaki Makola (27) is a multi-talented guitarist, songwriter and music producer who describes his love for music as an outlet where one can express their emotions.
A call for nationwide lockdown by President Cyril Ramaphosa inspired him to release his single track tittle reka’moka, translated as we are together and is aimed at giving hope as the country tirelessly fights the covid-19 pandemic.
Ntswaki said his song is relevant to what the country is facing says the track has received great reviews by fans all over.
“As we are all locked down in our respective countries with very little to do, I asked myself what is it that I could offer musically and virtually,” he explained.
“Music is a great way to work through both the dark and the light sides of our emotions. Music explains things when words fail, it speaks. It makes me think about how it relates to life and I love the beats,” said Ntswaki
He reflected on how the collaboration came about in the music industry.
“There were lot of time spent interacting with other artists and I learned a lot from them,” he said.
He said his growth in music industry happens because he moved from comfort zone to work hard.
“As young people we always have challenges. So I want my music to inspire the youth to be positive about their lives and find inspiration to pursue their dreams during this difficult time,” said songwriter.
Ntswaki said young people should not sat back and wait for opportunity to come to them but to chase those opportunities.
“We live in different times where we cannot rely on one thing. Young people must not focus on one thing. We all have things to love. If your love can make money for you, use it. But also look at how you can grow and make money in other ways,” he said.
