Help provided for the needy, thanks to King Jesus Ministry House of Prayer
MASAKANENG – The King Jesus Ministry House of Prayer church in Masakaneng settlement outside Groblersdal opened its golden heart when it reached out to the needy in the area to hand them over food parcels recently.
According to the church the food parcels’ distribution programme is part of its mission help those in need amid the Coronavirus pandemic beyond its spiritual healing role.
The destitute families received food parcels comprising mealie meal, cooking oil, soups, vegetables, beans, tin fish and juice among other livelihood necessities.
Pastor Mogau Letsoalo said they came together as members of the church to look at ways they could help those struggling to make ends meet during the country’s COVID-19 lockdown.
Pastor Letsoalo said the church’s members saw it befitting to offer the little they could towards purchasing of the food parcels.
“Our members responded positively in their numbers to the call and we were able to buy the food parcels to help those in need in our area. Initially, we gave the members of our church who were in need and then we decided to also reach out to those in the community who needed help during this Coronavirus pandemic lockdown,” said Letsoalo.
The pastor said they were happy to be able to help the families who needed the parcels and thanked God for enabling them to do so.
“We knew that with the power of God we could accomplish our mission to reach out to the needy beyond providing them spiritual service,” said Letsoalo.
Letsoalo said they prayed to God to enable the church’s programme to reach out to more communities in future.
“All the beneficiaries of the programme were in need of the help we provided them, especially those who made an income through businesses that could no longer do that in the lockdown. Our church members from the community of Masakaneng played a pivotal role in the identification process of those in need,” said Letsoalo.
The beneficiaries of the church’s programme expressed their gratitude for the help provided for them and said the parcels would help them a lot.
