Suspects appear in court after a foiled armed robbery

The nine suspects arrested for conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition appeared before the Sekhukhune Magistrate Court on June 5.
The suspects are aged between 24 and 40 and were identified as Danny Tebeila, Tebogo Nchabeleng, Tsebisho Ntswane,Kabelo Pilusa, Tebogo Ramaila,Isaac Tios, Tatenda Ruzive,Zephania Gwadivenga, and Raphael Ngwenya.
They were remanded in custody and will be appearing again on June 12.
The suspects were arrested on June 3 after Limpopo Police received information about a possible robbery at Atok in Bogalatladi area and immediately conducted a snap operation with the help of a police helicopter.
” A suspicious vehicle, (Ford Ranger) with three occupants was spotted along the D4180 road between Atok and Ga Selepe. Soon after stopping, the driver suddenly got out and allegedly pointed the members with a firearm.The suspect was then shot and the firearm taken. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted under police guard,”said Limpopo SAPS spokesman Brig Motlafelo Mojapelo.
He said another vehicle, a Toyota Quantum with six occupants was also spotted along the D4190 in the Atok area and the driver was also ordered to stop.
“When searching the vehicle, the police found a firearm hidden inside and all six suspects were apprehended.”
