SDM receive more than 1000 masks from Burgersfort Toyota
BURGERSFORT
The Burgersfort Toyota handed 1050 face masks to the Sekhukhune District Municipality (SDM) on June 1. The handing over ceremony was held at the Burgersfort Toyota premises in Tubatse.
The masks will be utilised by the municipality’s workers and councilors.
“ It is only by standing together as citizens of a local and global community that we will be able to combat Covid-19 .We are all in this together and we all have a positive role to play,” said CEO of Burgersfort Toyota Solly Tayob when handing the face masks.
The event was attended by a representative of Sekhukhune Development Agency (SDA) and two councilors in the office of SDM mayor Stan Ramaila.
The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s also had one member who honoured the event.
Eric Masindi of SDA said they wrote letters pleading with local businesses in the Sekhukhune region to assist them with masks.
“We are glad that Burgersfort Toyota agreed to assist. We hope Burgersfort Toyota can continue helping locals as the spread of Covid-19 is increasing daily in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality.”
Tayob said his business previously donated food parcels to communities within the Tubatse area.
“We hope to restore business and continue assisting the needy. The past three months had been challenging to us and other businesses locally. Lets pray that the situation improves for the better.

The face masks were received by MMC Samson Nkosi and Peter Mnisi.
They both applauded Burgersfort Toyota for assisting during the trying times.
