The latest Covid-19 figures
by the Limpopo department of health has shown an increase in the spread of the virus in Tubatse.
As of Wednesday, Sekhukhune had eight coronavirus cases, this included one fatality. All the cases are in the Fetakgomo Tubatse area.
On Sunday the Limpopo Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba said the resumption of operations at the mines in Sekhukhune and Waterberg is among the causes of increase in the Covid-19 infections in the province.
Ramathuba expressed concerns at the rapid rise in confirmed (Covid-19) cases in Limpopo .
The MEC appealed to people across the province to observe the Covid-19 lockdown regulations and rules imposed by the national government in a bid to curb the spread of the disease.
“Let’s continue to observe the rules and regulations as mandated by our government,” she said in a statement.
On Wednesday Limpopo had 58 Covid-19 cases,32 recoveries and three fatalities.
