Man arrested for allegedly strangling his lover has case postponed
DENNILTON – A 47 year-old man who was arrested for allegedly strangling his female partner to death at Tambo RDP section in Dennilton outside Groblersdal had his case postponed to 04 May 2020.
The suspect, Modisha Mogoane, made his first appearance before Moutse Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 28 April 2020 following his arrest.
The 47 year-old is facing a charge of murder, after the body of his lover was discovered at the house last week.
According to information at police disposal the deceased, Sewela Maisie Mahlalisa, and the suspect were staying together in the same house, at stand no 389 at Tambo Square in Dennilton but were separated by a protection order.
Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said on Friday 24 April 2020, the two were supposed to appear at Moutse Magistrates Court on that protection order.
Mojapelo said the suspect decided to visit the deceased and allegedly strangled her at the house during his visit.
