POLOKWANE – Two suspects aged 30, were last night on 25 April 2020 at about 20:15, arrested in the Westenburg policing area outside Polokwane and suspected stolen cash amounting to more than R335 000.00 (three hundred and thirty five thousand rands) recovered.
The suspects were arrested at an intersection next to Emdo Park after they were stopped by Westenburg Visible Policing members and Traffic officials. The officers thoroughly searched the suspects and their white Range Rover motor vehicle and that’s when they discovered a large amount of cash inside a back bag, hidden in the boot. A further search was conducted and the rest of the money was discovered hidden inside the spare wheel compartment.
One of the suspects was found in possession of a licenced firearm with ammunation.
A case of possession of suspected stolen money was opened.
The recovered money will still be subjected for further investigations to establish it’s origin.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has praised the members for their impeccable integrity and professionalism.
The suspects will appear in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 28 April 2020.
