STEELPOORT
Anglo American and Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality have partnered to assist the needy and vulnerable affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The two organizations have distributed food parcels to the communities in the Ngwabe cluster.
On Wednesday, the two parties delivered food parcels at Ga Malekane Tribal Authority.
The operation was honoured by the acting mayor of FTLM Cllr Isaac Mamogale along with his team.
The Anglo American management team also attended the session.
“It’s easy for people to wash hands and sanitize at all times but people still need foods on the table.
“This is the reason Anglo American took a decision to partner with the Gift of the givers in distributing food parcels to the communities,” said a representative of Anglo American.
The acting mayor Mamogale indicated that the FTLM is grateful that Anglo American has chosen to assist communities.
“We thank the innovatives made by Anglo American, we request that the food parcels be distributed to the suitable beneficiaries. The needy ones in the community.”
He further appealed to the communities to comply with the COVID-19 lockdown measures and to remain at their homes.
Kgoshi Malekane also thanked Anglo American for recognizing his community and other villages.
