Mandela month came earlier than expected for the pupils at Mante Primary school at Ga Phasha village in Steelpoort.
150 pupils at the school were donated school uniforms on March 16. The much needed donations were handed by Mr Thage Phasha.
The learners ululated and cheered for the donor while he issued the uniforms. The set included trousers, shirts and a pair of socks.
Phasha has been donating to several local schools in the past years. “I decided to increase the number from 50 to 150 this year. I realised that there were so many needy pupils at the school.”
He confirmed that he will continue with the donations in the upcoming months. Parents were also gifted with blankets during the handover.
“I also handed 60 blankets to the parents. Winter is approaching and some of the families are without blankets.”
The parents and pupils thanked Phasha for choosing their school. They vowed to take good care of the uniforms handed to them.
