Man suffered a bullet to save his livestock

“After being shot, I went in for check-up and proceed with operation system last month at hospital. Doctor attempted to remove the bullet in my lower body,” said Jabu Moremi who alleged that he was shot by criminals who wanted to steal his livestock.
“Later I was informed by doctor that should he attempt to remove the bullet, the possibility was high that I could be paralysed for the rest of my life,” said Jabu.
Incident happened last month in his yard.
Jabu faces possibility to live with a bullet in his body for the rest of his life.
Mashabela resident said doctor was unsuccessful in removing the bullet.
He is now recovered and he returned to his work.
“I feel a bit better, but some tasks are still difficult to perform because the bullet was next to my spin, complicating the situation,” said Jabu
“My duty takes me a bit longer to complete but I have to go on,” he said.
Jabu explained how he was shot; “My fiancé heard loud bang noise, she woke me up to inspect. I went outside silently. I heard my cattle’s hauling I turned around, the moment I turned around, I heard a gunshot and I fell”
He said he was hit in his lower back. Asked if it was the first time being attacked Jabu said: “This is not the first time. They once attacked my family and took two goat,”
Police said no case was open.
Community leader, Frans Moremi urged residents to report livestock theft to the police.
