Elderly woman mysteriously disappears

HLOGOTLOU – Police in Zaaiplaas outside Groblersdal have launched a massive search operation following the disappearance of a 72 year-old elderly woman from the area.

According to police the elderly Martha Mohlala reportedly disappeared from her home on Wednesday, 19 February 2020 at about 07:00 in the morning.

Police said it alleged that the elderly woman went missing while her family members were preparing food for her.

Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said police were notified about the incident and a search and rescue team comprising the local police, the K9 unit and mounted unit immediately embarked on the search operation for the elderly woman, joined by members of the community but the team was unsuccessful after it covered surrounding areas including mountains.

“She was last seen wearing a maroon traditional dress with a white doek and blue shoes,” explained Ngoepe.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in locating the missing woman to urgently contact Warrant Officer Mhletshwa Shabangu at 082 303 9894 or the crime stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
