LIMPOPO

The old skorokoro Great North Transport (GNT) buses will be minimised on the Limpopo roads. Premier Stan Mathabatha officially unveiled 75 buses which will assist commuters in the province. The new buses were presented to the public on Monday.

For years commuters had been complaining of the buses, some labelled them ‘death traps’

“We believe that improving our public transport system is a critical part of our broader development agenda. As you would know, bus transport remains amongst the biggest mode of public transport in this Province.

“We rely on the bus system to ferry people to and from work on daily basis. If we should put it correctly, we should say that the bus system is the heart beat of our Provincial economy “said Mathabatha during the unveiling of a new batch of busses.

One commuter, Marcia Lekalakala applauded the Limpopo government on acquiring the buses.

“This is a great job done by our government. I still believe we need more new buses this 75 is not enough.”
