Dube foundation ensures a memorable festive for the needy
KGAUTSWANA
Four families in Kgautswana village were
anticipating a bleak Christmas before a local NPO intervened and donated new
clothes to them.
Dube Foundation handed clothes and toys to the Chego
and Mgiba families this past festive season. Fidel Dube, founder of the
organisation, said they always aim to do good for the needy.
“When were discovered that some of the kids did
not have clothes for Christmas and New Year, we decided to take from our own
pockets and assist. In other instances, there were Good Samaritans that
assisted us. We do this for the love of the children. Not only have we assisted
families in Kgautswana and Tubatse, we also bought clothes for another family
residing in Mashishing”
In one of the families, the foundation also
bought the children’s school uniforms.
“We started with the donations of school covers
in December. Previously we handed laptops and stationery to our local schools.”
According to Dube, pupils from impoverished
backgrounds are often compelled to drop out of school due to challenges they
experience. “The Dube foundation aims to lessen their power of want and support
them throughout their academic period with necessities such as uniforms,
laptops and other valuable items which will assist them in accessing quality
education designed to change their fortunes in the long run,” added the founder
of the NPO.
He said that they currently have two wheelchairs
and they wish to donate to the disabled. Those interested in the wheelchairs
can contact the foundation on 072-682-7116 or email dubefoundation@gmail.com.
