Makua marathon shares festive safety tips
STEELPOORT
Veteran runner Daniel ‘Marathon’ Makua has urged motorists and pedestrians to be cautious this festive. As always, he also encouraged the people of Tubatse to exercise and to eat healthy during this period.
“It’s that time of the year where we experience lots of accidents in our roads. I am not a traffic officer but I wish to urge our drivers to avoid speed, and not to drink and drive.”
He also warned athletes training on the national roads to be cautious as well. “This festive one can do his trainings with the indoor machines or in the villages where there is no much traffic . There are so many irresponsible drivers out there. They will still drive even intoxicated”
Makua said he will be back with a bang in 2020. “ I will be competing in lots of marathons in the coming year.”
He also pleaded for sponsors to assist him in his competitions next year.
