In its quest to continuously strengthen and improve health service delivery, the Limpopo Department of Health has concluded one of its biggest recruitment processes.
The department has issued appointment letters to 774 successful candidates for posts of support staff where the department was having shortages, compounding the shortages of health care professionals.
All these posts were advertised in August 2019. This is a massive improvement to yester years where positions were advertised and not filled or delayed in filling.
The department has managed to fill all these post despite the difficult financial situation that it finds itself in. The recently filled posts include among others: 303 Ward Attendants who will assist with improving cleanliness in our facilities, 105 Operational Managers for Primary Health Care.13 Senior Clinical Managers) have also been filled to strengthen leadership and clinical governance at hospital level
“As part of rationalising, the department is committed to improving service delivery and it is looking forward to phase two of this recruitment process where unemployed post community health care professionals will also be given an opportunity to compete for the vacant positions which will be advertised, said departmental spokesperson Neil Shikwambana.
The department further called on the organised labour to support it in its quest to improve the conditions and services under such great financial difficulties wherein government is even mooting to freeze public servants remuneration.
