JANE FUIRSE – Three suspects aged between 32 and 47 years-old were arrested on two separate incidents in Jane Furse during intelligence driven operations conducted by the provincial tracking team and the crime intelligence as part of the ongoing operation festive season.
Police said the tracking team managed to trace and apprehend the suspects involved in an ATM bombing incident which occurred at a Shell garage in Jane Furse on 31 October 2019.
Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said a 32 year-old man who worked as a security officer at security company was arrested with his accomplice, aged 47 years-old who was employed at one of the local mines after they were found in possession of dye-stained money.
Mojapelo said meanwhile, the operation continued to bear fruits after one of the suspects was arrested at Tshehlwaneng village outside Jane Furse for a burglary business incident which was committed a day before in Jane Furse.
“Preliminary police investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly broke into a business property, grinded a safe and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. During the arrest, an unlicensed 9mm pistol with a magazine, four live ammunition, an angle grinder, a suspected stolen Toyota Corolla sedan and clothes worn during the commission of the crime were recovered,” explained Mojapelo.
Police said more arrests were expected as the operation was still underway and that the arrested suspects would appear before the local magistrates’ court soon.
