Mmabore Mogashoa (40) from Ga Mogashoa, entered Mzansi Traditional and Cultural Music Awards and she is in need of your support to win it.
Mmabore is the only queen amongst kings in the Sekhukhune district to compete for this upcoming Mzansi Awards. A multitasking woman recently won an essay competition titled “I am an African” hosted by National Heritage Council in May 2019 and she also won provincial Innovation Award, held in Sun Meropa in September 2019.
“I am an artist, song writer, author, heritage activist, traditional practitioner and a poet. In the past I worked in Johannesburg but I resigned because I have a calling, I love my culture, while growing up I used to dance for traditional activities such as dipepetlwane. My outstanding performance in drama rewarded me with a naughty nickname (Comfort),” said Mmabore.
Mmabore said earlier in 1997 she had won an incredible certificate after emerging a poem at school. “In 2018 I found out that I have talent to sing and so far I won three trophies in music industry,’ said the third daughter of Malope and the late Polane Mogashoa.
A well know traditional practitioner said: “I helped various schools’, doing traditional activities including performing drama and traditional dances”. She continues “I donated books to Mogashoa, Makgane, Bafedi and Arethabeng primary schools books which I won them at Sowetan story”
An author, Mmabore wrote a book titled “Excuse my color” and she will officially launch it at the end of November 2019. “My upcoming book is about a tragedy of the killings and challenges faced by people living in albinism,’ she quoted theme of her upcoming book.
Speaking of her educational background Mmabore said she finished her grade 7 at Makgane higher primary school and completed her matric at Tshehlwaneng senior secondary school, with distinction in Economics.
She advanced her studies at Middleburg technical college by obtaining her electrical engineering and she continues to study computer system engineering at the University of Johannesburg.
