Laduma Hardware (Laduma) is excited and proud to announce the grand opening of the biggest hardware store in the North. Situated in Lebowakgomo, South East of Polokwane, the store comprises 6900 sq. m of retail space and a 6000 sq. m builder’s yard, stocked with an impressive range of build and hardware. The store will open on November 15 at 7h30, offering specials, competitions and fun for the whole family.
A Laduma developed in-house training facility for staff, 90% of them Lebowakgomo locals, will also be open to the local community. It is Laduma’s vision and intent to provide skills and knowledge which will uplift and empower the residents in this bustling area.
Prior to the public opening, distinguished local dignitaries will gather to attend a formal ceremony and wish Laduma and their employees, success in developing the business and supporting the local community.
By growing the number of stores (Lebowakgomo is number 15) and expanding across Southern Africa, Laduma is creating jobs within local communities suggesting less migration to the larger cities and families living together. It is through continuous economic development in areas such as Lebowakgomo that transformation of the economy will occur.
Rich Pemphani Laduma’s Area Manager for Limpopo, says: “The community is very excited to have such a mega store open in their area which will enable them to buy everything under one roof. We, at Laduma, feel honoured to be accepted by the community and are proud to know that we will be creating jobs for more than 100 people.“
Laduma offers free local delivery making use of licenced and owner-driven ‘bakkies’ to deliver goods to customers on an ad-hoc basis, creating additional employment and supplementary income streams. In addition onsite facilities and services are offered to local tradesmen enabling them to render glass and cut steel to size. These initiatives offer entrepreneurs an opportunity to earn a regular income and indicate the visionary and creative ways in which Laduma is helping and developing the community.
On the opening day shoppers can expect special offers, music, entertainment and fun for the whole family.
