Driver loses control of vehicle, hits a residential wall and dies

LEEUWFONTEIN – A 34 year-old man died when a vehicle he was driving in overturned and crashed into a brick wall at a residence along the Leeuwfontein Road near AJK Hardware on Saturday 12 October 2019 evening.

According to police the driver, identified as Fanie Makola, was driving a Chevrolet en-route from Marble Hall to Leeuwfontein direction when the accident occurred.

Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said it was alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

“He was certified dead while on the way to hospital. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing,” said Mojapelo.

The South African Police Service in Marble Hall have opened a case of culpable homicide.

Meanwhile, 12 farmworkers escaped death when a bakkie they were travelling in lost control and drove into a fence at one of the farms near Leeuwfontein outside Marble Hall recently.

In another accident on Friday afternoon, three farm workers who were being transported at the back of a bakkie in Leeuwfontein and a driver of a sedan were transported to hospital after a collision involving the vehicle and the latter along the Leeuwfontein Road.
