A local learner at St Marks College has excelled in the World Scholar’s Cup debate tournament. The competition was held recently in Burgersfort, it involved local schools from Burgersfort and the Jane Furse School (St Marks). The debate competition took place on 7 August.
Keitumetse Mashishi took home three medals on the day and a trophy, she was also nominated as winner of the Asimov award.
Every World Scholar’s Cup features four exciting events,scholar’s bowl,collaborative writing, scholar’s challenge and team debate.
Mashishi was congratulated by the St Marks
College’s board; she will be among those who will represent the school in the
same competition in Durban on September 23.
