Mother and son go missing, help police find them
GA-MPHAHLELE– The South African Police Service (Saps) in Lebowakgomo have launched a massive search operation after a 20 year-old mother and her one year-old son from Mogodi village in Ga-Mphahlele outside Apel went missing.
The 20 year-old mother, Khomotjo Mohlagedi Kgopa and her one year-old son went missing since 12 August 2019.
Constable Maphure Manamela, Limpopo Provincial Police Spokesperson, said it was alleged that kgopa went to Lebowakgomo Hospital with her mother and son and on their way back, when reaching the hospital’s gates, her mother decided to go back as she had forgotten something at the hospital.
Manamela said when Kgopa’s mother returned, both Kgopa and her child were nowhere to be found and the distraught grandmother then searched for them around the hospital premises and surrounding areas with the assistance of security guards without success.
Police said Kgopa, who is mentally disabled, was reported wearing a red doek, maroon jersy with a checked skirt and black shoes whereas the child was wearing a sky-blue hat, striped T-shirt, dark-brown trousers and black shoes.
