Vox pop…… Sekhukhune Times took to street to ask ordinary citizens if it was important to celebrate Mandela’s day. Therefore people expressed their views of the day.
Emily Ramaselele
“I don’t see any reason why we should celebrate Mandela’s day. it is been done almost every day to people who are used to help others by not showing off to the media using unlimited minutes or more than 67 minutes of Mandela’s day. Honestly to me I don’t see any point of celebrating.
Moloko Boloka
“Well life it’s about preferences so it’s fine for those who celebrate Mandela day. My view is big no because Mandela is not the only politician/activist who fought for the freedom. We have many freedom fighters except Mandela. Why state not celebrating them?”
Tsoma Maybrey
“No we don’t have to celebrate Mandela’s day. No one was aware that one day Mandela would be a freedom fighter and also he was not the only one who fought for it. Now we need equal opportunity not conspiracy theory of Mandela’s history. We don’t eat history we need real things here. To side-line him only and celebrate his day shows favouritism.
