The MEC for Road, Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo, Namane Dickson Masemola met with the various stakeholders of taxis at Lebowakgomo complex, discussing the department’s environment and rekindle the staff commitment to service delivery.
Masemola’s department has identified the need to intensify cooperation among taxi industry specifically regarding taxi permits, to ensure there’s smooth running of the industry.
“This meeting is part of the MEC’s broad programme of thoroughly analysing and diagnosing the department and its environment,” said Masemola.
This was part of gearing for continuous action to intensify deeds of the New Dawn and rekindling the commitment of everyone to serve the people of the province.
“Stakeholders have indicated that there’s a continuous need for road safety awareness campaign because deadly accidents are prevalent in Limpopo roads,” said Masemola.
He said the provincial government will work together with the national government to increase the number of traffic officers on the roads at all times.
